This discussion paper was an editing challenge. Four authors, 90,000 words and a topic that required the utmost sensitivity and care. I’ve been working for DVRCV for many years now, but the passion and commitment of their staff and collaborators continue to amaze me. This discussion paper reports on an indepth study of intimate partner homicides committed by men in Victoria between 2005 and 2014. It includes detailed analyses of court cases, critical reviews of defence strategies, judges’ comments and sentencing outcomes and provides a series of sensible, achievable recommendations. The hope is that it sparks a conversation about law reform and justice around family violence and homicide.
Lorna shows great care and interest in the projects that she’s working on, and goes the extra mile to ensure the final product is effective.
