I’ve worked as an editor on several reports for the Commission for Children and Young People, but this time they asked me for design and layout instead. The work that CCYP does is challenging and difficult. This report reviews the circumstances around the deaths of children who had been affected by family violence and looks at the need to improve responses to prevent more unnecessary deaths. It was tabled in the Victorian Parliament in December 2016.

The design brief was to produce a clean and simple report that looked professional and was easy to read. The cover image (and a successful suggestion for the report title) came from a section of the report about the ways in which children often go unnoticed in family violence situations.
