Chromatopia is probably the most interesting and beautiful book I have worked on for Thames & Hudson.

David Coles is a master paintmaker, but also a philosopher, an historian and a beautiful writer. It was a joy to read each story about the colours and pigments that he works with, and I learned a whole stack about ancient civilisations and cultures, art history and new technologies. Seriously, the words are great. But the images… Adrian Lander‘s images are just stunning.
