This beautiful chapbook was written by Sophie Cunningham and photographed by Dianna Wells. Together, they walked the boundaries of the City of Melbourne during the wettest months of 2016 and documented what they saw and learned along the way. This book was just one part of the project, which also incorporated walking tours, a public talk at Melbourne’s Wheeler Centre and a photographic record that I hope will find its way to an exhibition space soon. After working with Sophie on the text and gazing at Dianna’s images, the legacy of this job for me is that I now see scar trees everywhere.
